Obama says “private sector is doing fine” then backtracks

At a rare news conference today, President Barack Obama told reporters the “private sector is doing fine.”  Obama was apparently trying to contrast the jobs picture in the private sector with government jobs, but Republicans quickly jumped on the President’s remarks about the economy.  The heat became so bad,  the President allowed reporters to question him at a photo-op hours later, where he stated, “It is absolutely clear the economy is not doing fine,” but that it had “good momentum.”

Blames Republican

At both his news conference and the photo-op the President took time to blame the Republicans in the House for stalling his economic package and for getting “wrapped up in political games.”
