Connecticut Jobless Rate Soars To Nine Percent. Biggest Jump In 36 Years.

Connecticut’s unemployment rate soared to nine percent for August, the largest one month jump in 36 years.  ”It looks as if we are seeing a slowdown in growth,” said Andy Condon, director of the Office of Research at the Connecticut Department of Labor.  CT Mirror reports, “the state’s total non-farm job estimate fell in August, marking the fourth monthly decline in 2012. The first eight months of 2012 now have produced net jog growth of just 1,300 positions so far this year. That’s well below the the 8,000 new jobs gained during the first eight months of 2011.”
